I awoke with a fire of burning desire to move ahead, 
on this, my first day of the rest of my life!

I did not have to write down my resolutions, for they 
are engraved in my mind, as sign posts to my future!

I suddenly see the ruts I have traveled in for so long
are actually smooth! I was the rut, not the path I took.
I was always free to chart new courses!

I will forge ahead to complete all old projects, so
I can reap the rewards, monotary or emotional, and
invest those treasures into my greater goals.

I do not believe in "declining years" or "limited life",
for life is as long as you wish to make it. Growth is
life - as long as I move ahead the end is never near!

I have always cared for and shared with others but I
now vow to make an added effort to care as much for
myself, for without me I would not exist!

I will always refuse to give up the child in me, for
it is what keeps me young in body, mind and spirit.

I am nothing in this infinite Universe, but through my 
works I can and will grow in stature beyond belief!

May you find the same energy surge in your new life, 
as I have, on this 70th year after my birth year!
